Summary of 2023 Screening Results

In the year 2023, United Diagnostic Services (UDS) undertook comprehensive health screenings for the dedicated members of District 7 Fire Departments, encompassing Locals 1264, 1324, 1461, 3219, and 1604. Among the 712 individuals who participated, a majority of 537 (75%) were male, while 175 (25%) were female. These screenings yielded invaluable insights into critical health metrics, providing essential information for the well-being of these firefighters.

Key Findings and Statistics

Among the firefighters, 415 out of 712 firefighters (58%) were identified as having at least one actionable finding that necessitated further attention. The screenings revealed a total of 632 actionable findings across various organ types. Among these, 81 findings (13%) were categorized as “High-Risk,” further emphasizing the crucial role of early detection. Of particular significance, 1% of these High-Risk Findings proved to be cancerous, with one case of thyroid cancer detected.
