Local 416 Indianapolis Fire Department

In June-July 2023, United Diagnostic Services (UDS) conducted health screenings for the members of Local 416 Indianapolis Fire Department, involving 174 participants. Of the participants, 143 (82%) were male, while 31 (18%) were female. The results of these screenings shed light on important health indicators.

Key Findings and Statistics

Among the firefighters, 117 out of 174 firefighters (67%) were identified as having at least one actionable finding that necessitated further attention. The screenings revealed a total of 231 actionable findings across various organ types. Among these, 43 findings (19%) were categorized as “High-Risk,” further emphasizing the crucial role of early detection. The findings were distributed across different organ categories as follows:
