Local 22 Philadelphia Fire Department

In May-June 2023, United Diagnostic Services (UDS) conducted health screenings for the members of Local 22 Philadelphia Fire Department, involving 389 participants. Of the participants, 355 (91%) were male, while 34 (9%) were female. The results of these screenings shed light on important health indicators.

Key Findings and Statistics

Among the firefighters, 229 out of 389 firefighters (59%) were identified as having at least one actionable finding that necessitated further attention. The screenings revealed a total of 386 actionable findings across various organ types. Among these, 73 findings (19%) were categorized as “High-Risk,” further emphasizing the crucial role of early detection. The findings were distributed across different organ categories as follows:
