Waterbury Fire Department

In May 2023, United Diagnostic Services (UDS) conducted health screenings for the members of Local 1339 Waterbury Fire Department, involving 140 participants. Of the participants, 113 (81%) were male, while 27 (19%) were female. The results of these screenings shed light on important health indicators.

Key Findings and Statistics

Among the firefighters, 92 out of 140 firefighters (66%) were identified as having at least one actionable finding that necessitated further attention. The screenings revealed a total of 154 actionable findings across various organ types. Among these, 29 findings (19%) were categorized as “High-Risk,” further emphasizing the crucial role of early detection. The findings were distributed across different organ categories as follows:
